Well I have a really bad video of me vs a 2008 Kenny Bell GT500 Cobra. The end result was I ran 11.74 @115mph with a 1.68 60ft. The Cobra ran a 12.38 @ 121mph with a 2.2 60ft. I know it's a bad video but I hope you enjoy none the less.

Ya it felt pretty good but the converter isn't set right and I am running out of gear on the big end. It bounces off the rev limiter the last 80ft. of the track. So now I have to work on getting it right so the car can run what it should run. Somewhere in the low 11's. thanks

That camera man was struggling. I found myself talking to them like "look up" "hold still" "what are you doing". :D
Good kill though. Congrats.

Who the hell took that video MJF? I've seen the gt500's run from 12.4 to 12.9 at the track.

A buddie of mine took the damn video. I really wish he would have gotten that one better. The pass right before this one he ran a 12.02 @ 122mph with a 2.0 60ft. My buddie said he talked to the guy after the pass right before this one and the guy told him he made a 11.60 pass. So I figured it would be a good run for me. I even let the car that was on side of me run by himself so I could get on side this guy. My friend said that the guy talked the car up alot so I really wanted to run him.

Yah I found out, when ever someone gives you a ET of what there car runs add .5 to it... :D

With a 122mph trapspeed, I wouldn't doubt for a second that car's potential to run 11.6s :judge:

Do they come with the KB chargers? Or did he put that on there? Because the 500's ive seen were not traping that high, 115 maybe?

Yeah, they don't come stock with KBs... with that low of a trapspeed I'm gonna guess it was just a basic small KB with a couple bolt-ons. Cuz 121-122mph is bolt-on/pullied '03-'04 Cobra territory.

It was a 2008 Cobra GT500.. I have seen plenty of Cobras make really good power and run good mph but they don't trap what they should.

I know what it was... and I know what they run stock. 122mph is very strong, but it's not as strong as it should be running I don't think. That blower is rated anywhere from 540rwhp to 800rwhp depending on boost level (540hp is @ 10psi).

Sorry, I thought you miss understood me!! :D Well there is another guy that has a blue one that said he puts down 680rwhp with his and the best I've ever seen him run was 11.89 @ 128mph. I think that if they had a set of slicks on the car it might have been where it should be. But like I said for some reason they don't ET like they should.

121 is very low for a KB car...I'd think it'd be ~130mph with a good driver.

You have that backwards. The trap speeds are there. It's usually
the ET that suffers due to weight.
You ran into a very slow KB GT500. Regardless, nice pass. :)

The biggest problem with GT500 owners is they just slap a new blower on it or a pulley+bolt ons and don't ever bother changing the crap tires out.
Nice run. Sounds like one of the smaller KB's and a couple bolt-ons for a 122mph trap

The biggest problem I see is that alot of the new GT500 owners are doing mods to bump up HP and they don't spend much time at the track. They'll go once every few months or something and make a handful of passes. It's just their toy, and they don't take the time to get good at putting it down the strip. The serious guys do get it done though. The first 500 I saw in the flesh was at the track. He put down an 11.5 with just LT's, offroad x-pipe, and some meaty DR's. Stock pulley. He was pretty good at bangin the gears though.

Most KB GT500's I've seen are dyno queens. 700rwhp on stock tires/suspension isn't going to help much.
FWIW, I've seen a bone stock GT500 run 12.2@118mph. So a KB Shelby running 12's is embarrassingly slow.
And 2.8L is the only sized KB available for the GT500; not exactly small.

Beautiful Stang's man
And I thought they had a 2.6L KB as well for the GT500?
I want one with the 3.4L Whipple
