I am minutes from the PA/DE border. If you are familiar with Bootleggers then you know where I am at. I noticed in your sig that you had work done at Rapid. I hear good things on this site about them. I am itching to do some motor and exhaust work and would like to get opinions before I do anything.

I probably ought to be more specific about what I want to do. I definitely want to change the exhaust to something that sounds better in all RPMS. Kind of like Flowmaster=Rustang. LS1's don't seem to have that obvious exhaust type that works. Just alot of opinions of what people like and they all seem to be different.
As far as motor work goes definitely head and cam for starters. I have a friend that works for a local Chevy dealership and suggested I wait for some new heads that they are going to manufacture for LS1's. L92 or L72. I forget which one. And of course any other supporting mods for those parts.

For exhaust I am a big fan of Magnaflow, low price, low restriction, good quality, and a nice deep sound, not obnoxiously loud (like what you have now). Seems to do a good job of taming a long tube/no cats exhaust. You could also try putting a Magnaflow or Borla bullet in your loudmouth in place of the resonator, but I think you would be better off with a Magnaflow catback. Hooker makes a good catback too. Check out LS1 sounds for some sound samples.

Magnaflow was an option I was considering. I actually had a setup in mind but don't know if anyone has done it. I was thinking a TSP X pipe and Magnaflow bullets. The reason I want to switch is fitment issues with the Y (Pacesetter) banging and it overall just looking and sounding to some extent like s**t.

Rapid Motorsports is high quality and does great work. I am also a fan of Magnaflow as Formula413 said. I have ARH long tubes with their catted Y-Pipe and Magnaflow catback. I would talk to Mike at Rapid about your goals and he will recomend the right combination for you. That's what I did after making several mistakes without research. My car has never felt better after Rapid corrected all of my previous modification mistakes.

That's enough votes for Magnaflow for me. I was kind of decided on it anyway. I've heard the TSP X with Dynomax mufflers and even though it sounded better than my current setup I wasn't that impressed.
