Default Help, Reverse wont hold!

I have an Lt1 T56... I have to HOLD reverse in for it to work, sometimes I cant hold it good enough and it pops out and sounds nasty! It doesnt feel like its going all the way in...
I can push it to reverse, slow let off the clutch, and I can feel it fall farther in gear, and if I let go of it, it pops out once I start moving...

I have a Hurst Plus shifter, would that have anything to do with it?

Also, I do not have any other gear problems...

You probably started out with a clutch issue and over time have had to push harder and harder to get the unit into reverse . This wears out the plastic fork inserts on the reverse gear fork and will start to eat into the fork itself . Once this takes place , you will need a rebuild and to replace worn parts .

I wouldn't suggest it because you might end up tearing up the reverse gear syncro teeth but if you must , try to avoid using reverse as much as possible .

If its not staying in gear , chances are its damaged to the point of needing synchro & gear now as well as shift fork pads. You may also have to replace the fork itself( bent).

get ahold of six speeds inc. or tick performance on here...they both build the T56 and do a damn good job of it ..
