Default cam choice-FI vs. Carb.

is a FI cam ground ground diff than one used for a carb., lets say using a
d1sc procharger? if the carb engine was using a single plane intake, the fuel sig. would have a diff path than FI, which would have a shorter distance
just wondering if most "shelf" ls cams are designed with FI in mind
im running a z06 cam, 6.0, d1sc-i used a carb off another procharged engine, it needed a real agressive pump cam(squirter), i figured maybe because of the cam design-i might change the cam later, wonder if i should get one custom ground with a carb in mind
