Default What am I leaving on the table

I'm debating whether the hotcam would suffice for my goals, or if I should go for a 224 cam when I decide to do a swap. The car is my daily driver with full bolt-ons (minus ls6 intake) through a cutout and I run 4.10s in my m6. Also, I plan on running a 100-150 shot.

Horsepower numbers aside, how much ET am I leaving on the table going with the hotcam over the 224? Is it worth the few hundred more it'll cost me to go that route? Would the hotcam's split help even the field when i'm spraying? Is it possible to still reach high 10's with the hotcam on juice?

Keep in mind this is mainly for street use as I don't get much time to ever see the track. Also, i'll be running stock heads for a while if not indefinately.

Thanks!

im not sure about the numbers without searching, but you may want to go with the z-06 cam, 405hp. this may seem to work better with your application. just my 2 cents $275.00 new on ebay

I think the z06 cam makes a lot less power down low than the hotcam though so I figured the hotcam would be the better choice. I'm looking for overall performance and numbers under the curve more than peak dyno numbers. If the z06 cam performs just as well at the track however I'd go with that one for the stock idle. anyone have input?

Well since you already have 4.10's, I would go with something bigger than a 224. More like a TR227, TR230, TSP228 and so on.
