Default Intake hose thingy

That brass fitting.

What goes here? Do I need it? Can I block it off?

It was damaged in shipping so I'd like to know if I need new one. The motor is going in a project car with no emissions or whatnots.

So If I took all the emissions stuff out I can just plug it?
