Default New Car Pictures

I bought a new car and I took a few pictures of it and I was wondering if you guys could take a look at the pictures and give me some of your opinions, or maybe catch some things I didn't see, or things that I need to change. I only took pictures of the outside of the car and the engine compartment. I couldn't get underneath the car at the time to get any pictures but I could get some soon if anyone was interested. But I can tell you the headers continue down to a single exhaust. Any and all questions, comments, and opinions are welcome. Thanks!

Car looks good just by looking at it. I would start with cleaning motor and do a tune up since you didn't mention the mileage I think. Work on those headlights. Awesome buy.
Car looks clean.

i dont know if anyone else caught this, but i see that sparkplug boot is right on the header. thats a no no in my book. Those headers get very very hot. And that boot is only rubber, i'd get that away from there. I mean, does anyone else have any imput on this?

Looks stock under the hood to me. LS6 intake, SLP lid, MSD super conductors, stock head castings. Looks like a stock un-ported camshaft too from what I can see.

Those boots can take more heat than you think. Mine do that and have for several years.

Is it a LS6 intake? How can you tell, because I don't know the difference.

Honestly, bend it hard as hell while on the plug. it will come off just a hair and stay that way. don't let it touch. It WILL burn if it's touching. But, if there is just a red **** hair's width apart, it will be fine.

Looks like a nice car to mod.

The boot isn't sitting directly on the header. There is, like one said, a "red **** hair's width" away from it. But I'm still curious about this whole intake situation. Is it an LS6 intake?

Im suprised at how bad taken care of the engine bay is, considering how good it looks on the outside. Looks good though, colot looks great.

Thanks man, there are a few things that I have found interesting about this car. Like you said the engine bay wasn't taken care of very well. The SS emblem is upside down on the passenger side. The front bumper is a replacement part, and the tail lights are from a 93-97 camaro. I had the VIN sheet printed and it is a legitimate SS though. And it was repo'ed from its previous owner...

Previous owner probably didn't care about her much. Especially when you consider the upside down emblem, the wrong tailights, and the fact it was repo'd the previous owner treated it as if it was a V6.

I agree. oh and I know it's kind of hard to see, but can anyone tell me what kind of headers are on here? I can take more pictures if necessary.

Probably uncoated Pacesetters. Looks like when they did the header swap, they didn't take out the AIR pump. The hose is still connected to the airbox/intake. The rubber hose to the right of the airlid, follow that down inside the front drivers fender and see if its still connected, if so, get it outta there.
Looks pretty good besides that, spray some Blackmajic engine shine/degreaser on there and it will look a hella lot better. That stuff works awesome!

Sweet thanks a lot, I'll have to try some of that stuff out. Yea, the pump is still in there I've actually looked at that a couple times. Is there a difference between leaving it in there and taking it out?
