Default punchin it from a roll.

Does anyone else here have an issue when you pull out lets say onto a highway from a light, and you drive it onto the highway, Obviously not under WOT, and as soon as your cars straight in a lane, maybe goin 15 mph you punch it and it just kindof goes at like your converter rpm (mines 3600) and then after it hits like 35 it downshifts to first and takes off like a rocket. No matter what i do the only way i can race full steam from a 20 roll is to downshift it myself. The car just wont downshift at that low of an RPM. Is this just the tuning?

Did you have your car tuned with new shift points?

My car does the same thing, there's a small little rpm range where it wont kick down. Im sure they are all like that. If you have the car in D and not OD it will downshift almost at any speed from 2nd or D. Try it out.

humm maybe leaving it in D is the way to go... good call. By the time id need to shift outof D to OD in any race ill be at 120-130 mph anyway...

If you are going to manualy shift a 4l6x I would reccomend only shifting from drive to overdrive. I killed a couple of these already. But a good tuner will eliminate the need for you to shift at all.

This may be way out there, but was your car a 2.73 car before adding your 3.73s? If so, maybe that is part of the problem and you need to have your shift points changed...
