Default Is it worth it? Removing the EGR and Air Tubes?

Ok, I have the heads and everything pulled off the car. Ported heads and a CC 212 218 cam and LS6 intake is going back on. I have read about 4 different views EGR.AIR removal, on 01-02 not having EGR do to their cam specs.

1. Will these two mods be worth it?
2. I know the EGR will need to be removed, will tubes and pump give me a code as well?
3. Will I suffered more ping or detonation with removing the two systems?
4. Will my cam work for this?

Thanks, look at my sig for mods....

Shouldn't have any side effects of removing that crap other than an SES will be lit since the EGR pump will be gone...

I'm removing mine when I build my motor up in a few weeks.. makes it so much easier to pull the valve covers w/out all that emissions crap

leave it on to much other stuff to go wrong with removing a potentialy vital part to your engine. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

it is all there for one fu*king bull*hit reason... We all have to go thru emissions at one time or another. does it hurt, well NO. Not the greatest but 12.6 with no internal mods and no change but muffler thru a4.Blow thru emissions BS. Air pump just brings cats to temp, egr just stops ping(on cars designed for it). So WTF if it keeps the feds happy, why not take an extra 5 or 10 min. to move sh*t when swapping plugs?

BTW ls6 intake myself. Sent egr directly to intake where pcv went. Sent pcv-thru pcv valve to air pump tubes(free crankcase evac mod, obviously). Been this way 12600+ and counting,no ses and I believe she runs pretty damned good. Neve lost at anytime. BTW I did this with about 44000 and many intake oil cleanouts before. Times were with 3800 on clock, WAY before most free mods.
