Default Ok I Dont Know What To Do Any More!!!!!

Ok Heres A Lil About My Trans Trap Of A Caprice, I Have Been Through A Total Of 9 Thats Right 9 Transmissions. 4 Of Them Done A Professional Transbuilder At A Shop And They Still Keep Goin Out. I Havent Even Put 150 Miles On Any Of Them B4 They Burn Up. My Trans Guy Said That The Last One He Looked At From My Car Completly Burned Up Meaning Everything In There Was Fried, So He Rebuilds Me Another On And He Says It Still Not Shifting Right He Says That The Tcc Code Is On I Cant Remember What The Code Exactly Was But It. But He Thinks This Is The Reason The Trans R Burning Up, Just To Tell U A Lil About That If I Put My Foot On The Brake The Check Engine Light Goes Out But If I Take My Foot Off Then It Comes Back On! Can Anyone Help Me With This Cuz Im Tired Of Theses Issues I Just Want My Car Back Its Been Almost A Year!!!

The SES going off and on with the brake is a clue . I would bet you have some electronics issues going on poor grounds etc.

You need to check for cooler flow. Actually measure line pressure variance with throttle and need to know exactly what the number of the code was..

its a solenoid or somethin that works wit the brake i dont know how to really explain it but when i looked up the code part of the trouble shooting was too put the car in drive put the parking brake on and take ur foot off the brake pedal and see if the check engine light goes off! and it did. the trans guy just put a new cooler and torque converter on the car yesterday along with a newly rebuilt trans. maybe this would be easier it i could give u the exact code!!!

Yes it would be easier and he needs to verify line rise with a guage , Lockup and cooler flow before you start driving it again. 9 transmissions and burning up everything in them something is amiss. Simply not locking the converter wont do all that, Sounds lie very low line or blocked cooler possibly

dude, 9 transmissions tells me someone doesnt know what the hell they are doing. that's absurd. i can understand twice, but not any more than that. if the 2nd rebuild didnt work, you have to look elsewhere! it's common sense that another rebuild wont fix your problem. the techs need to properly diagnose the problem instead of just throwing parts at it.

I would have to agree that after 9 units assuming they all were not the same unit rebuilt I would consider going else where. Either another shop or get a trans from somewhere install its and either take the car to a tech or work to diagnosis the problem yourself we have helped people do this on a few occasions. I don't recall any test that would make the check engine light go off and on as you hit the brake. I do be leave you have and electrical issue going on.
Where do you live maybe someone can help you find a shop that can help you thats not to far away?
Problem is many builders though they may know what there doing as far as building the trans are not techs which means they do not know how the rest of the car affects the trans. Which is why you find so many that say they hate electronic transmissions.

Does your builder know to add tranny fluid after they're built? I'd definately get someone that knows what they're doing.

+1 on the vac mod idea. After 9 units I would strongly suggest it and a different builder. Also if the problem is really with the trans I would suspect a mismatch in the pump, valve body, separator plate or the internal electronics for that specific year. Keep in mind that 93-94 uses one system. 95 uses another and 96 and later use the same system to date. I wish you the best of luck. Vince

You also need to find a wire diagram for you car, the specific page(s) you want are the ones showing the trans. controls, the brake switch, and the grounds.

Are you flushing the cooler lines before hooking them back up to the transmission? If you don't, any debris from the previous transmission will get pushed into the new one.Always flush the cooler lines before hooking them back up.Even just blowing them out with compressed air would be good. You will also be able to tell if they are clogged by doing that. Is the TV cable being adjusted correctly? has the torque converter been flushed or replaced? This will also put debris back into the new transmission.
