Best programmer for deleting speed limiter
Ive been reading alot about deleting my speed limiter cause my car is governed about 118. I know that these cars came governed depending on the tire size they came with. I just want to know what programmer is best for deleting or raising it. Should i tune it out at a shop or buy a programmer to remove this and if a programmer is ok which one is the best. Also i dont know how much a shop would charge just to have that tuned out, any ideas.

Most shops will "usually" charge $100-200 for a very simple tune such as what you are asking for, if you wanted a dyno tune most will run upwards of $400. A full tuning suite such as ours starts at $499 & gives you access to 350-500 parameters in the pcm including the speed & rev limiters and are very easy to change, however it is highly recommended that you have a laptop to use to make your changes.

all the ones listed above are by far the better ones. However, I just went with a stage 1 jet programmer. It is a programmer for limited upgrade vehicles. Basically it is for stock vehicles and it simply maximizes the stock parameters within range. After I did that it cleared my governor and was a simple plug, play, and go. Real easy!

Yeah im just looking for something simple I'm kind of afraid to mess with the pcm too much. I wanna do more research on efilive and hptuners before i make my decision im leaning towards hptuners and efilive just because of the potential. What i dont understand about the hptuners is all this credit talk do i have to buy credits for everytime i tune it , i just want it for my car i dont plan on doing any tunes on other cars?

If all you want to do is delete the speed limiter, you can do it with a used HPP3 off ebay.
I use EFI Live. It's great but it's not simple, it's expensive, and you need a laptop. Same with HP Tuners. But if you plan to mod your car to the point of needing the capabilities that these packages offer and you can afford it, there isn't any point in wasting your money on a handheld.
