Long tubes are finally done!!!! tons of pics inside!
Finally finished the install this weekend. Couldn't have done it without my new friend Jason (ss.slp.ls1) who did most of the work, and my friend Dave, who welded everything in my driveway lol.
Installed were my new stainless long tube headers, highflow cats by thunderbolt, 3" y-pipe from pacesetter, Spohn motor mounts, NGK plugs, and alot of blood and sweat. It sounds amazing, feels amazing and the coolest part of all is that it was done 100% in my freaking garage!
all the new parts layed out
high flow thunderbolt cat
old y-pipe, what a joke!
the setup- done in my garage. managed to jack the car up with some pretty good room to work under.
the old rusty manifolds and cats lol
out with the old, in with the new!
Jason performing surgery
looks nice without the egr and air pipes everywhere
has some decent clearance, i haven't hit anything yet
they look awesome from underneath!
My next mods will probably be the ls6 intake and a tune. Oh end I need to get some nicer looking air block off plates!

Yup thats where I got them, you can't beat the price either! I like them because they are so compact they are a really nice fit for our cars! The motor mounts are sweet the engine barely moves

I got the same cats but the ceramic version. Didn't even see the metallic version. Looks like i'll have to upgrade in the future.
Oh and it sounds SOOOOOOOOO much throatier with cats!!! I ran w/o them for 6mos and it was really raspy and higher pitched.

both cats were welded to the y-pipe and clamped right to the headers. on the driver's side, what we did was take an inch off the header and an inch off the cat and it managed to fit perfectly in this little pocket under the car.

We spent several hours on the motor mounts, majority of the time trying to figure out how to line everything up to insert the pins. But after many hours we realized that you had to loosen the pedestals, then we were able to manuver the engine until the mounts and pedestals lined up and tapped the pins in until they were fully seated.
If I had to do it again, I'd say it would take a couple of hours to complete, assuming you have the headers removed.
