Default Stock rear end play?

I have a 00 M6 Camaro how much play should there be in the rear end when moving the yolk back and forth? I trying to decide whether I have too much or not. Someone looked at it tonight from my work and told me I probably have about 55-60 thousandths. Is this too much?

Once you factor in all of the wear and tear of spline contact and backlash you will get a good amount of play in the driveline. A oil change and a quick inspection may be in order. How many miles are on the vehicle?

I have about 76k on the car. Im only concerned because I hear a snapping sound when taking off in first or reverse. So I was worried that the pinion was overtightened when I got the seal done. The rear end doesn't howl or whine. It just makes a snapping sound when taking off.
