Hello From NEPA
Hey I'll picking up a 93 TA from Texas in June. Its a Firehawk clone we think. It has some SLP goodies on it but I don't think its a real Hawk.I'll be driving it To PA around the 18th.I was just wondering what I should check before taking it on a 1500 mile journey?I was also wondering what kinda of mileage I should expect from it assuming it is stock. The person who owns it now drives it daily and only gets around 15mpg around town.I was hoping to get at least 20 on the highway.I've been lurking here for a little while now and trying to learn a little about these cars before making the trip. Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.Oh yeah I really like the site so far lot's of good stuff here.Oh Yeah it only has 50,000 miles on it.

WELCOME!
Scranton/W-B area??
You should get better than 20 mpg on the highway depending on prevailing winds, elevation changes, windows up or down, air on or not, tire pressures, weight/load and general condition of oil, ALL filters, plugs, tune, and especially your average speed, and how steadily you hold that speed.
Good luck, and safe trip!

Thanks, yep W-B.I'm gonna change the oil, check the tire pressures, clean the air filter, visually check the spark plug wires.I might pull 1 or 2 plugs just to see what kind of shape they are in.The owner has a big file folder of all the work that was done to it.Mostly maintenance stuff.
