Default Catback/tune C5 dyno

All I have is a street tune and a GHL Bullet catback. Thoughts?

Looks like you uploaded and moved your file after posting. I just uploaded the video above.

Here is your dyno sheet.

looks like the street tune and cat back helped your rwhp/rwtq a bit. (+9rwhp +16rwtq) My 2000 FRC bone stock did 300 rwhp 300 rwtq. I added a predator tune before I knew anything about LS1 edit and real tuning, also a set of BBexhaust bullets and put down 330/335 to the rear wheels.

So whats next for ya bro?? May I suggest LG Pro Longtube headers and an ls6 intake if you only want to do bolt ons ?? Should be good for 40 rwhp and 40 rwtq with a full tune using LS1 edit, or hp tuners to optimize a/f etc etc. When you said street tune, did you mean a tune from a hand held ?? My tune from LG Motorsports is dead on for my mods, the predator hand tuner couldn't have come close. Get yourself a good tuner bro. I just saw that you are in NJ, isn't CARTEK located there? If so, I have heard nothing but good stuff about them.

I typed and typed and didn't answer your question.

My thoughts ?? Well I'd say considering what my car did bone stock and you have essentially the same car as me with a street tune and catback that the numbers are right on par. I have seen a few other FRC's make a bit more hp/tq stock but not much. I think I had one of the weaker 2000 FRC's. 300/300 isn't too impressive with 13% loss thru the drivetrain.

Thanks for the response...I'm looking to do a Vararam and short shifter(both on order) and then possibly longtubes with cats, ls6 intake, and ported t/b. Then I'll finish putting together my nitrous system.

Also, as for the tune I had a local guy load up a tune that he has developed on other C5s

Did a dyno tune with CMS on my pretty much stock 99 C5. Only mods are intake, x pipe, Borla Stingers, and a set of Ruff 19" and 20" rims. I started a 297HP and ended up at 303HP and 307TQ.
Having Ryne install AR Headers and Fast 92 and LS2 TB next week. Hope to see more improvement. Later Ryne will be installing H/C, and clutch. Trying to get to 400 - 450RWHP

Isn't that right on w/ what GM advertised? If 13% is really the ideal "out of the factory" drivetrain loss, then I'd say your right where GM said you ought to be.

I think there are too many folks out there that configure dyno's to higher readings. I've heard of TA's making 320-330rwhp bone stock, and even raced a few "high" dyno F-Bodies in my C5. Never once did they ever keep up. They should have though. (If they were puttin' down that much more than me stock) I put down 305rwhp/310rwtq in bone stock form. I later added a CAI, but never did any racing after the intake addition. Perhaps these "stock" F-Bodies are actually getting a tune w/ the dyno session. That'd be my guess. This OP's dyno is very believable.

I mean, I wasn't thrilled about my dyno, but I wasn't upset either. It was what I should have expected. I think people are hoping the LS1 was underrated, unfortunately for Vette's, it was closer to be overrated. However, in my case, I was right where I should have been.

I thought a LS1 C5 would put down more power then that stock, yet along with a few bolt ons...

I raced my buddys grand fathers 03 C5 last weekend and it has intake and full exhaust...it was a A4. From a 70 roll I pulled 2 cars on it by 140.

Maybe F-bodys do have less of a drive train loss??

Congrats, I remember when chumma's frc put down 330+rwhp with just an ls6 intake, tune, and catback. Definitely invest in some lg pro lts and an ls6 intake.
