Default Anybody with APS kit pulled the trans yet?

Took the car to the track to see what it has and burned up the trans.
Just wondering if anybody has pulled an auto out yet with this kit installed, I have a feeling it's going to be a major PITA, especially since this is a 4L80 so it's extra tight.

Anyway, I managed 128 mph on a half *** pass (had to get out of it so the trans would shift into 2nd); stock bottom end, stock heads, baby cam, 11 psi, 3800#, so the car seems to be making good power.

Nope, but a pretty mild build. Stock hard parts with Alto Red Eagle clutches, and kolene (sp) steels. Seems like 2nd gear clutches are gone.
It should have taken more than I was giving it, I drove around with it for about a month with a cam and bolt ons and sprayed a few times, then I've had it on with the twins for a few months now, but this is the first time I've had it to the track.

Bummer on the trans. Was kicking around going to 4l80e but now thinking next year. I guess will see how the tex twin and m6 does for a bit first.
Sounds like I should wait and get a top of line built to the hilt trans. Don't want to be messing around with them already had enough messing with clutches in the past.

Had to pull mine a couple weeks ago. I'm still running the 4l60e. Wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I just loosened the passenger side exhaust manifold so it could swing out a little. It was pretty tight but it came out.

I'm hoping that's all I'll have to do. I remember it being really tight on the passenger side. I had hell getting the starter back in there.

Yeah, the starter was probably the hardest part. It came out pretty easy but I had a hell of a time getting it back in. Get it done and get back to the track lol.

I have the sending unit for gauge on the cooler line coming out of the trans, so it's the absolute hottest part of the trans. Temp never got over 220.

Sent you a pm JM.

Maybe a guy should get one of those smaller msd starters needed for the upgraded turbo kit. That might give more room to mess around of course shouldn't have to be pulling trans off every day. One reason I want to wait till next year and get a seriously build 4l80e. No point messing around.

I'm considering it. It should make getting it in and out easier and at least I'll have it should I get the upgraded turbos down the road.
