Default New best with a bolt on+Hot cam and a problem

Went to the track Saturday again. Signed up for a class this time in stead of just testing and tuning. My Previous best was 12.995 at 112. I was hopeing for 50s expecting 70s.

First Test and tune run 16psi in DRs 2700rpm and drop the clutch spin a little then hooked:

60ft 1.97
1/8 8.28
mph 87.96
1/4 12.749
mph 111.14

Second launched at 3 spun more, timing equipment didnt work right plus I missed 3rd.

Got called for qualifying(all brakets qualify off of dial in). Drove up and got a check engine light didnt run. Figured out the tube for the AIR pump popped out of one of the header. Fixed it with JB Weld or so I thought.

Next pass same second 16psi 3k launch got a 2.00 60 then missed 3rd again came out with a 13.40 though.

AIR tube popped out again. Talked to Navy David SS about it. I was going to quit he suggested to just run it and take it all out Sunday. Glad I did next pass was the best.

16psi 2700rpm drop the clutch spun a little and hooked.

60ft 1.86
1/8 8.16
mph 87.31
1/4 12.65
mph 110.76

Now it was eliminations. Dialed a 12.70. I treed the other guy .083 to a .674(he said he couldnt see the lights, he had lane choice so I didnt feel to bad). He pulled me due to a better 60 then I pulled on him got to about the 1000ft couldnt see him so I hit the brakes and get back on it. If I wouldnt have I probably would have broke out.

60ft 1.96
1/8 8.25
mph 87.86
1/4 12.82
mph 97.92

Next run extremely close. I won by .024. Treed him .171 to a .240. Dialed a 12.59 since it was pretty cool with no wind. 2500rpm launch. If I would have left my dial I would have done a lot better but probably would have lifted anyway.

60ft 1.95
1/8 8.29
mph 87.50
1/4 12.73
mph 111.89

All runs were shifting at 6500. I won my class also.

One question I do have is about the AIR and EGR crap. I took it all out and made some block off plates. Check engine light is on. If I have someone just delete the AIR and EGR is that good? Will the engine run at the right A/F ratio and everything or should I just get a custom tune? Car was tuned by the previous owner. I want to get HP Tuners but Im not ready to actually use it because I still have a lot of learning to do(been reading a lot in that section here, but Im not ready to do it myself). I would just assume get the AIR and EGR deleted if the engine will be fine.

Any suggestions to pick up some more time anywhere with my current setup?

Also a big thanks to Navy David SS for the help. If I wouldnt have talked to you I would have dropped out and wouldnt have ran my best time and wouldnt have won.

EDIT: Also weighed my car thanks to a Stock/Super Stock race at the track this weekend. Wieghed 3530 without me in it with 3/4 tank of fuel and all fluids 3730 with me.

Which drag radials are you running? You are launching awfully low for it to be spinning like that. Even with Nittos I hit a 1.78 and that was launching around 4500 RPM trapping 111 at the time. Also, what kind of power are you making?

They are a BFG Comp TAs that came with the car. Wow 4500? Yea when I tried 3k or slightly above I spun like a bitch. The car dyno'd 360whp at 6k rpm and 356tq 4600rpm.

Tune is by Wait 4 me. Im going to probably buy HP tuners this week.

Congrats on the win and the good lights, but just talking to Navy David SS probably slowed you down a tenth!
