View Full Version : Smallest diameter LCA? Madman?

I have the BMR right now, and would like to pick up 1/4" if I can, but going to a smaller diameter.

Anyone know which are smaller than the BMP adjustables?

I heard the Madman ones are the smallest. I'm not worried about the weight, so they can be steel, to keep the strength.

I'm interested in this also. This sort of stems off of the 15x12 thread. LMR's car runs a 1 inch OD LCA with a 15x12 inch wheel.

Dunno who makes the smaller diameter, but my guess is the smallest will probably be made out of chromoly since you can use smaller stock and have the same strength as regular steel.

Mine are 1 1/4 chromemoly and the are offset.

my standard ones are 1-1/4 chromemoly, also, but i can do 1-1/8 or 1.00. the 1-1/4 is the strongest.

Mine are 1 1/4 chromemoly and the are offset.

Meaning, that the bushing is offset? I'm not sure about the BMR, I'll measure them. I already have the offset bushing from Billingsley, but will be looking for one that will allow me to move the LCA in even more.

I know some people make them out of .156 wall DOM 1" tubing, you can direct thread a 3/4 bolt. Keep in mind decreasing diameter is the quickest way to lose strength in a piece of tubing. If you wanted max space and went 1" they also make .250 wall DOM and you can always buy 1" c-moly although I am not sure on the thicknesses.

I ran a 1 1/4" c-moly bar in mine.

Guys that go 1" for extra room usually don't run any bushing on one side and make the bushing all on the outer side so the LCA sits all the way it can to the inside.

The next question would be where can I buy that bushing where I can jun nothing but a washer on the one side?

When I was doing mine the first time, I just drilled the hole to 5/8 and put 5/8" bolt then you can use a piece of aluminum tubing with a 5/8 id and just cut it to the length you need all on the one side.

You can also go 1/2" they make 3/4 thread to 1/2" bolt hole rod ends, then you don't need stepped spacers and can cut a piece of tubing to take up the space.

Or just have someone machine you an extra long bushing for one side that is stepped and goes all the way into the rod end instead of just 1/2 way when you use 2 bushings. Then you can keep the 12mm bolts.

Good info. Thanks.
