Default Less Tire Pressure = More Traction?

I have a set of BFG Drag Radials 315/35/17 and just had a new Moser 12bolt installed with 373's along with a UMI Body mounted torque arm. I ran the drag radials this past Friday at 15psi and sat and spun with a 1.8second 60'. This is my exact same 60' that I ran with the old stock 10bolt, stock torque are, and stock 323's. I see some people run thier dr's at 20psi but I have not had the time to mess with tire pressure yet. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason

you cant look at someones 60ft with the same mods and expect to run that. yes tire pressure is key but a good track prep is too. i would start off at about 22psi and jump down 2 or 3 psi after every run until you find out what wporks best

yes, i agree with the above two posts. but keep in mind that if it "hooks" too hard, its gonna slow you down. you want it to spin just a bit off the line, like maybe a half rotation or so. trust me, been there, done that

Thanks for all of the help so far. I had been running 15psi and it seemed OK, never tried going with more pressure, only less down to 12. All of this was before the 12bolt, 373's, and the torque arm though. Went to the track and still only cut a 1.8 second 60'. Spun like crazy at 16 and seemed better at 15 but still spun bad. Does anyone run 12-15psi or usually more? Also, I heard you can try the burnout around home and check the darkness variation in the burnout patch to see if it is the same all the way across or darker / lighter in the middle compared to the outside edges. Anyone have any luck with suck a method? Any help will save on tires and is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason

all drag radials recommend running tire psi between 18-22 psi but that is what the track is for!
