Default T56 speed sensor and speedometer

I got a T56 out of a 2003 or so dodge viper. It just so happens i got the year viper that they put the speed sensor in the rear diff. So where the speed sensor should go on the transmisson right below the shifter i have a port that has never been drilled out. i could take the tranny back out of my truck and drill the hole for the sensor but then again it doesn't have the reluctor wheel on the output shaft of the tranny so i would have to try and rig something up there as well. So my question for you is does anybody make a aftermarket speed sensor and reulctor wheel that i could mount maybe on the slip yoke or somewhere i haven't thought of? oh and that will work with the factory speedometer.

The trans most likely has no reluctor( tone wheel) Machining the extension to accept the std speed sensor is a little more difficult that what a Black & Decker can do. The Viper uses a hall effect sensor ( produces a positive signal)and is powered. The Fcar is non- powered and produces a sinusoidal signal ( positive and negative pulses) this signal must be conditioned to use for speed( done in the ECM). I suggest you find a Viper sextension already machined an locate a tone wheel & sensor( the same donor part/ trans).
BTW the two tone wheels are also not the same .

I hope you got the Viper trans cheap because you are going to spend a few bucks on this conversion .

Kinda got this figured out. From the info i got off of a viper forum and thanks to six speed inc. I'm getting a machined ls1 t56 reluctor wheel or tone wheel that will fit on the viper output shaft and i'm going to drill the hole for the ls1 t56 speed sensor in the tail housing. total cost will be about 75 dollars for the tone wheel and the speed sensor

DON'T take out/ leave out the reverse inhibitor. You can work it through your brake switch or use a momentary type push button.
