Default Help with cam selections ... again

ok all. i just bought a set of 243 heads from a fellow GTO forum member, they already have springs good to .650 on them. and now its time to pick a cam.

ive got 3.91s and dont mind a "rough" idle, ive ridden in a "C cam" car and a 231/234 112 car and i could have fallen asleep in both of them, but i do want it to idle "strong" i dont want it stalling out etc. all these cams seem to be fairly medium sized so there shouldnt be a problem with that.

here are the cams im thinking of.

1 - 228R on 110lsa. specs 228/228 588/588 111+3 XER
2 - 230/230 592/592 110+3 XER
3 - 230/228 592/588 111+3 XER
4 - 232/230 595/592 111+3 XER
5 - 232/234 595/598 111+3 XER

im using kooks 1 7/8 headers with catless mids and a K+N FIPK kit, flowmaster super 40s. thats all the flow i have.

I like the looks of reverse split cams after seeing and hearing some of the x1 cars on the net. im looking for REALLY strong mid to upper.mid power. id like to shift around 63-6500 rpm.

the reason i am moving away from the original intention of the 228R is with the 3.91s and just a stock cam, i can barely give it gas in 1,2,3 gears without it trying to get loose on me. So i thought id maybe move the powerband up slightly and keep good "average power"

a 100 shot is in the future also...

these are all selections that can be made through tsp. theyve been ultra helpful with everything so i really want to buy from them.
