Default Introducing new stg2.5 cyl heads from absolute speed

All new designed stg2.5 signature ls1 heads using a unique 2.04 stainless rev intake valve and 1.6 ex. The 2.04 allows for maximum use of the stock seat without installing expensive seat inserts. These heads were designed for the new larger cams that are or will be coming out on the market {ex tr236 cam} they will work on a stock bore ls1. They are also a perfect match for slightly larger cubed engines like a 366 mini stroker ls1 or 392 mini stroker lq9 block. the 2.5 signiture can be used with all style heads {I.e. ls1-5.3-6.0-ls6}. the web site is being updated with flow numbers and pricing will be set at 2199.99 complete with dual springs and tit retainers. look for results from these heads soon

The heads have been flowing a good 5 cfm at each lift point over the stg 2's at .350-.450 it is about 3 over the stg2's, so at .500 im getting in the 293 range and 304@ .550, the factors I like about the 2.040 valve is its low flows which is actually almost 10 cfm over the 2.02 at .100 and .200 and its ability to flow strong to .650-.675. It also seems because the increased flow comes from the valve and bowl area, the bennifits can be seen with an ls6 intake attached. a usual stg2 ls1 int port that flows 306cfm @.600 will flow 279through the ls6 intake, the 2.040 will flow 310cfm and flow 282 through an ls6 intake and not stall and fall off after .600 like the 2.02 often does
the 2.5 heads will be carried by LG motorsports and a set of 2.5 5.3l's will be on JFM's new ls6 engine so there will be dyno and track results within a short time

Ahh.. Jay you're killing me.. I hope you didn't stumble on a new speed secret a week after I got my ls6 heads

In all seriousness, Jay has been awesome to work with, and put together a great set of heads for me. I can't wait to see how they run. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

These heads sound very nice. 2 Questions:

Is the 2.04 valve a proprietary design or is that available on the general market?

Your current stage 2.5s use 1.57 exhaust valves. What made you decide to increase the exhaust valve as well? Was it directly related to using the larger 2.04s or just something evolutionary in your porting design?

Ragtop--- the valves are 2.055 cut down to 2.040. then refaced, this increases valve margin and increases flow. There is some more flow in the lengh of the 45 and back cut, they work together and I can alter flow characteristics by playig around with the cuts. With the 1.6 valve I feel it will cut down on pumping losses and increase scaveging by its increased low flow, with the 1.6 24 degree tulip valve, flows from .100 to .300 are up 10 cfm over the 1.57. The 1.57 will peak 3-5cfm higher but I feel low flows are more important
Mark--- you know we are going to put a nice set of 2.5's on that 383, this time Im going to let you install them, you should be a pro by now
