Drag Racing Tech - Will I fit?

I am planing my first F-body build and was going to have my cage installed soon. I was going to go with an 8 point with bent door bars. After I got a price for it I started looking for pics and I just don't know if I will be able to get in and out of the thing! I am 6' 2'' and 280lbs right now. The 8 point was going to be good to 9.99. I never plan to go quicker then 10.90 or so but you know how that goes. :D Plus I would like the extra safety of the door bars.
So are there and other big guys out there that craw in and out of these things? How tough will it be? This will be my "Sunday car" that will see the track maybe 10 times a year. So I will be driving it on the streets a bit. Should I stick with the 8 point or just do a 4-6 point roll bar? Pics would be great also! Thanks for any help.

I would love to have that mentality but, I am going to be driving on the street a good bit and don't want to hurt myself each time I get in the thing! :D

IO'm 67'3 275, you will fit but it's tight. I have kirkey esats in my car, and they are mounted right on the floor on the back 2 studs, which helps alot. With the 1.75 inch thick sfi padding on the haol above my head (you must pad anywhere you're head can touch) my helmet hits the padding when I'm in the car with all my gear on. Kinda sucks, but honestly the fab guy did a really good job trying to make as much room for me as he could. I'm probably gonna end up trying to move the seat over an inch or 2 to see if that will help, but I don't like the idea a whole lot, the steering wheel won't be centered anymore.
There is some thinner sfi padding I think, I may get a piece of that to try to give me another 1/2 inch of room, because that's about what I need so my head isn't hitting it.
We're big people, unfortunately, this is what we have to deal with in 3/4 of the cars out there that you would cage and turn into a race car, unless you're having a tube chassis car built, in that case you go sit in it and make the fab guy work around you.... but the spec's say you have to have xxx so even then the space is gonna be limited.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I should just do a roll bar instead and tone down the build some. After more reading it seems that I might be better off with a milder build as I will be on the street more then the track. What time would a 6 point bar be good to, 10.99? 135mph? I can't seem to find the rules online. Thanks!

Go faster then 10.0 or 135 and you're getting the boot

I can go 10.0 without door bars? I thought it was slower then that for a roll bar? If not then I will be fine!

No, you have to have a 6 point, (actually a 5 point), to go faster than 11.49. You can go down to 10.0 with that bar. 9.99 or faster requires a cage. There is a sticky in here somewhere that has some of the rules. You might be able to go to 10.0 with swingout door bars but I'm not sure. That might be your best bet.

I think I am confused. I was talking about a 6 point that has two going to the drive shaft tunnel, two going to the back and, two behind the doors. Basically an 8 point without the door bars. How quick can I go without the door bars?
Also, If I am WAY off here please let me know because my last build was a truck and if feels like I am relearning everything.

Six point is two door bars, main hoop and two bars going back. 8 point adds the tunnels bars and a 10 point has the bars going over the window and down through the dash to the floor where the door bars are.
Maybe this will help,

Read the sticky on rules and safety equipment at the top and it has illustrations on what is required.
