Default Help

Build question..will it work? What should I change? 2K1 TA auto

Was thinking 383 bottom end with patriot stage 3 heads
1.8 or 1.7 rockers..depending on cam (dont know a good cam so chime in please)
60#injectors with the twin walbro pump setup
80trim rear mout turbo with a fmic

my goal is around 650rwhp

Should I have the stock tranny build or go with the 4L80?
And what rpm stall?
As for the read Moser 9" with 31 spline 3.50 gears.

I have about $1500 atm, Think I could pick up the heads and injectors and turn the boost up to about 14psi? Or with the stg 3's would that be to big for the stock cam driving on the streets? Not to worried about low end power.

Oh I also saw somthing about piston clearence with the heads...am I way off and miss read something?? Thanks

OH..current setup is stock moter with 42# injectors, STS rear mout with the fmic from trt. single walbro pump. Stock stall and rear.

I kept the stock stall to maybe save the rear a little bit longer..

Do a search for a member named SCOTTY$T$, might be under customer cars section an EPP's site also. But he had a bad *** 383 sts car. Might give you some ideas. As far as upping the boost, I don't think I would try that until all my bases were covered ie rear, forged motor, better fuel system.

How much hp can the factory fuel lines under the car hold before they need to be changed?

For 650 the line should be OK, but for 14 lbs of boost you'll prob. need a second pump, a regulator w/ return, and bigger injectors.

650rwhp shouldnt be a problem with that setup.

I think 3500stall will work great with the setup and the stock tranny will not hold for sure.

You will not have Pistons clearence problems since your pistons have valve releife.
what compresstion are you runinng???

atm is still stock, with the stage 3's it should be at 8.X or so, and the stroker kit i get im gonna try to keep it as close to factory specs as i can.
