Default Question for myself. PIC'S******

WTF was I thinking?

Take a perfectly good running car...and rip it apart to start something new.

Well,...here's my short story that I am writing at 12:47am about my build on my 2000 FRC. Please excuse the lack of typing skill...as I am buzzed, tired,..and tired. Worked on the car till 10pm tonight...long day indeed.

I'll try and insert as many photo's as I can. I'm doing the install at our familys private garage,...two hours north of where I normally work on the car. I brought most of my tools in my caddy that I would need, as well as all the parts. The sts was PACKED.

Soo, I started the project around 730am friday morning,..the week before I had already prewrapped all wires and hoses on the car, in preperation for the added heat from the twin turbo setup. Got alot done...ran into some hiccups. Alternator mostly, was a real bitch to make the bracket work but, thanks to gt-formula for taking a ride up and giving me some good insight on how to make the bracket work properly. Thanks dude. Other then that, it was pretty much straight forward but....by no means a simple bolt on kit. I'd imagine someone would pay 5 grand to install a kit like this,...possibly more easily. Anyways...here goes the pics.....sorry, all from my camera phone.

first off...to give you an idea of what I am running...here is a LINGENFELTER twin turbo setup in a vette, VS a one of two turbos that I have(I AM NOT USING THOUGH)...look at the size difference. My buddys lingenfelter car laid down 640rwhp @ 14psi.

now look at what I am using, VS the same turbo that I had next to the lingenfelter one in the previous pic..

This was last weekend...I first got the kit and test fitted everything...kinda raw looking...

I then broght the hot side back home,..removed and rewrapped the entire setup. 150 feet of wrap. Two cans of coating/thermal barrier silicone header wrap paint/sealer.

I got tired of the grey fast...so I painted it graphite black...the valve covers are stock, I shaved the bungs off,..filled them, and had some students powdercoat them black. I like the look alot. However, I do have FAST red fuel rails, that I need to machine before I can use them with this kit

the bastard ***** alternator bracket...

my TIAL BOV's

drivers side....90% complete

this is a bad beotch right here. My intercooler. . . Soon, I will drill large holes in my front frame rail to allow for more airflow.

progress....sinister all black...shadowtrooper...

boom shaklaka

our long time three year progect trans am in the backround....and some good success with the devil frc

and the world famous C5R nitrous assisted south florida ****** upper...my cousins wicked MTI Z07...which we were/are fitting a wilson sheetmetal manifold on today with a nasty direct port setup

So anyways...lomh story short, this is what I have left that the pics dont explain.

I have to...

gap and install passenger side plugs and wires and coil pack.
run the already installed oil linesfeed/and drain
wire my alternator
have new charge pipes made(turbos to intercoolers)
have a charge pipe from intercooler to tb fabbed
wastegates are mostly installed but only 60%
buy new air filters
buy a belt

..and,..thats it I believe

Oh, thats right, I have to remove my shifter BRACKET,..the one the the shifter attaches to on the torque tube. Yeah, I cracked that large metal brakcet in half on a 4-5th gear power shift. Don't ask me how I snapped it...cause I still can't believe I broke that.

Other then putting my interior back together,.....thats it.

Good night.,.....i'm tired. Gotta get back on the car in the mornin...

peace out

Damn... Thats one bad *** vette you got there. A local vette owner had that set-up on his vette. The STS twin turbo set up on his Z06. He made 597rwhp and 573 torque at 7PSI (with his otherwise stock LS6 & tune).

Good luck with the rest of the build though!!!

Thanks Mike. the kit is not a REAR mounted STS kit(when I said sts I ment my cadillac sts-sport touring sedan). lol.

The kit is a front/top mounted PTK or Pro turbo kit. Your buddy made good power if he was running a stock sts kit and stock motor. I made 615rwhp on my procharger setup, at 7.5psi soo...I', shooting not really for any dyno numbers but.,.....I am expecting alot more, at the same boost level.

here's the light reflecting off my ***** and onto the turbo..

and here is kinda how I left last night. Both sides on and near complete. Waste gates gotta be welded back into the down pipe instead of venting to atmosphere. All lines are already ran... so...should be a good day today to try and finish her to 98%

Nice set-up. You should check out Nick Yoskin on the CF if you have any problems as he is the master of this set-up, over 1000 rwhp.

First maker of the system was Halltech, who had a lot of problems with part suppliers, there are probably only a handful of the Halltech systems out their.

PTK is now defunct, someone on ebay has been selling simlar designed kits.

Most of the guys running this system have installed the Stinger hood and installed a lot of heat control type add-ons.

Good luck and post up some more pics. I hope you have a forged motor.

Jamie, I've always been a fan of your car. I need to cruise down to South FL. to play, its only an hour away or so for me.

I can't wait to see this car in action as well as the power it makes.

Looks like "awesome" and "$#!+" at the same time....

My old Incon (same maker as the old Lingenfelter) kit was about as perfect going in...

Props man, props.... I know I'll never do it again....

I'll puss out and Kenne Bell the next project.

~Joshua

p.s. oh yeah, I forgot to mention.... nice work so far.

Damn Bro, I wish you lived and worked in Michigan. Your skills are amazing. You should definately consider putting together a crew and make some serious money running your own performance shop. Stop making the dealership rich, and make yourself rich.

That car is going to one scary MF'r. Good luck and can't wait until she's done.

Thank man. Been talking with Nick for the past few days. The guy has been a big help. Don't know if he is on this fourm though. Also Tom,...tom something, I have his number, he is a CF member. Localguy, also helped me out. Both dudes, very cool,, very knowledable about the kit.

Mine, is a pro turbo kit.

Whats the stinger hood look like?....expensive? I'm already working on NACA ducts for my stock hood,
