Painting Calipers How do you go about removing the calipers and what is the correct process to paint them... thank you for your time...

Yeah... mask EVERYTHING in the wheel well except the caliper and spray them down with a good quality caliper paint after you get rid of the rust/old paint with some steel wool or something to that effect.

This may sound dumb, but I actually sprayed the paint onto a brush and applied it to the calipers. It worked a lot better than one would think. Call me lazy but I didn't feel like taping everything off! Besides, everywhere I went only had spray on and I was looking for the brush on kind. If I can find my pics I'll post em up.

There are a number of ways you can do it you can use dupli-color brush on kit when turns out good and you don't have to tape anything off. You can tape everything off and spray them with any spray can paint, or you can take them off the car and paint them and then when you put them back on you have to bleed the brakes. I taped everything off and sprayed mine then i put a stick on it. I turned out good i think match the car really good! In the first pic they were a little dirty but they really do make the car look better.

I did mine on the car and didn't unbolt a thing. Did another set with a member here and we removed everything except the caliper. That way we did not have to bleed the system. We replaced the rotors and pads or I wouldn't have remove them. They are easy to work on with them on the workbench instead of bending over them and/or sitting on the ground. Also be sure to cover the car if you are spraying. I used Plastic-Cote Caliper Paint and a high heat black.

I sprayed mine with brake cleaners and taped off the mounts and sprays the calipers red then when dry i taped off the caliper and painted the mounts silver. Duplicolor caliper paint

I taped and sprayed...touched up once with a brush due to rock chips....they look great...

No its just rattle can paint from somewhere i don't remember where, it was a couple years ago when i did it, and i got new rotors also at the same time. I wish i remember cuz i have have a jetta the same color i am going to paint them to soon i think i will just go black with them tho and use the dupli-color brush on kit. I couldn't find blue in the dupli-color paint caliper kit.
