I used to run rotella in my truck and have seen many car/truck engines torn down after running this stuff and it looked brand new inside. Its a very good oil. Dont know anything about the synthetic version though.

I am using the Rotella T Syn and it calmed down most of my piston slap noise. I recommend using this above Mobil 1 anyday.

I tried Rotalla 10w40 synthetic and had to add 1 qrt in just 2k miles. Then Autozone started carrying the german castrol again so I went back to that and 0 oil consumption. For some reason if I use any oil besides german castrol then I have to add some between oil changes. 0 consumption in 5k miles with german castrol. I've used mobil 1, american castrol, redline and with all of then I had to add oil.
