Default Is it ok to run alternator with just 2 front bolts, no back bolt/brace?

Just wanted to see if anyone is running their alternator with just the front 2 bolts and not using the bolt/brace that connects to the back of the alternator to the block. I'm doing my downpipe and that back brace is in the way.

I think you would need to use all three bolts to make sure its on tight. You might consider relocating the alternator to the top passenger side of the block.

When you relocate it up top.....don't you only use the 2 front bolts?

I just did away with mine today as well. I even had to cut that tab off the alternator to get clearance.

Yup, my alt reloc has only the front to as well. I had to look twice at it but it seems like that would suffice!

i cut the tab off too as it either hit or was close to my ofi 3.5"dp. Also kept so much DP heat from cooking the alternator
