comp cam 918 valve springs...
I've been doing a lot of research lately. I was curious as to how do you tell if you've got the older design of the 918's that have been known to have problems? The batch # of the springs I have is 27895 and they have the blue paint on them. They came with my cam package along with g5x2 cam (232/240...595/608) and 7.4chromemolly push rods.

Ouch! Comp 918's seem to be breaking a lot more lately. Our other LS1 tech brother we were trying to help also had 918's. Check out his carnage with them!

Why take a chance that their "new" springs won't be a problem? They have come out with "new" ones before and they still break and destroy motors. The original 918's were made by PAC. Comp has had problems ever since they switched suppliers. Get PAC or PSI beehives and you will be fine.

I had used the new ones on a few engines with no issues so that why I said they were an excellent spring..Comp had assured me they were on the up and up with this new revised 918 so again thats why I said they are excellent springs..I had Pac's sitting on my desk purchased from Lunati because I am direct with them and got a good deal on them and now feel much better knowing I have them in my engine..
I am very upset with Comp on this matter,There is no reason for there new spring to be failing,It looks like they really dropped the ball and I wont be using there springs anymore...
