Florida Members - June 14th New Symrna Beach meet

Hey guys, a group of us with the SCFBA are getting together for the monthly Canal Street meeting and then maybe coming back to my place in Deland afterwards. Here are some details

Saturday June 14. We will be meeting at Gilly's Pub 44 in New Smyrna for lunch, and then cruising to the monthly New Smyrna car show. Meet at Pub 44 at 2. We can chat for a few, have a nice lunch, and cruise over to Canal St early enough to get spots. Pub 44 is a family fine restaurant during other than Bike Week and late at night. Good food too at reasonable prices.

For those not wanting to join for lunch, there is Wal Mart, McDonalds, and an ice cream place withing 1/4mile

I'm going to try to make it. I'm 70% sure that I can. Isn't this Father's Day weekend, so I get to do whatever I want that weekend right???...............

No thats Mother's day that women get whatever they want. On Fathers day we get to mow the grass, paint the house, pull weeds, wash your wife's car and then to top it off, go watch 1000 other people's kids for 8 hours that cant dance in a dance recital so that I can get a glimpse of my neice for her 30 second routine. YEAY FUN!!!!

BUT I plan to be as hung over as I have ever been, so that will be fun.

I'd love to do that on my only saturday off so far this year.

Unfortunately, it is 4 hrs away from me so its honestly not an option. I have to work sunday from 7a - 11p.

Thats honestly the reason I haven't joined SCFBA. They are active, but usually a decent drive from me, and on weekends when I work.

I'm not going to be able to make this one. Car isn't running because I'm slow with my installs.

I will more than likely be coming. I think some of the guys from our club are thinking about coming as well. If all goes well should be a nice FBody turnout.

The more the merrier. It will be great to see all of you out there.

TTT We are moving up the meet at Pub 44 to 1pm. Gives us plenty of time to eat, drink, bs, and still get good parking at one of the coolest shows around!

John, when are you leaving your house to cruise over, I'm gonna try to meet up with you to go to Pub 44.

Sorry, another question, when do you plan on leaving the show to go back to your house for swimming? My kids are young, so I'm not sure if that's gonna work for me.

Jason, don't worry about it. Willie has little ones too, and mine can not swim without a life vest. Bring them along. John's pool has a nice little play step.

And if they don't want to, there will be plenty to do!

Jason, give me a call, I left you a voicemail. Come by and you can ride with me if you cant drive. There will be other little ones that cant swim, so no biggie, they can all play and splash around on the step. We really would like to see your family come by, my wife wants to meet your's.

Did anyone make it to Canal Street tonight? I was there and it was pretty dead! I used to take my '68 down there all the time and it was much more involved than it was today. Maybe the weather kept everyone away?

When we were pulling out onto US1 I saw a line of Camaros but I guess everyone else went up 44 when I turned onto US1.

I was really surprised to see the turnout.. when I used to go every month, it was always packed, sometimes from one end to the other. It's been about 2.5 years since I have been down there (hard to believe!) and I was wondering if it was still as big an event as it used to be.

Did find a really nice wine bar/cafe to hang out at for a while. Great food!

yeah I was with a couple of friends from our club. we were expecting a big crowd like last month but they told us there werent enough cars to close the street off. your LT1 looks very nice. I seen you on the street coming in and leaving but I never did see where you were parked. we didnt venture off too much but next time I'll come by and check it out.

I was parked sort of at the lower corner of the Pennysaver lot. Once I got parked, I went over the Z with some detailer to get the few bugs off the nose then went out looking around. Kept watching the weather but it actually did turn out to be pretty nice. Too bad it was gloomy earlier or maybe more people would have made it out.

Thanks for the kind words about my LT1. I've only had it about 7 months and just starting 'the process' of detailing and whatever else happens along. My business keeps me on the road or in the office almost every minute of the day so I don't have as much time to tinker with my car, but it's still fun to have to take out to a cruise once in a while and mess with in the garage at home.

I drove through at about 5pm and it was pretty much dead. I had my boat, just got off the intercoastal on our way home, so didnt have my car, but it was kinda dead. i think the weather forcast might have done the show in. maybe next month.

Hey we were there also saw the 2 peweter SSs nice and the black one sounded great . Max your Macs did not relize the white Z was you sorry ill remember next time .It did get a little better after it cleared up / it always does/ Some people hate to get there cars wet. And the people who put on the cruise sure hurry to cancel the show . Any way the Harley show is this weekend DAYTONA/ ORMOND DESTINATION . We will be there rain or shine remember if you dont like the weather in florida wait it will change .

Yeah, it really did turn out to be a nice night after the weather cleared up even though it never really did get bad anyway. It was just nice to get the Z out and check out the other cars. I'm planning on the Dest Daytona show this Saturday so hopefully I'll see you all there!
