leave the switch always turned on?
That's a tunning issue not something you need to necessarily tapped into.
Why do you have this posted in the appearance and detailing section? Isn't this your second time to post this?

If he already has to turn a switch on to turn the fans on then its a little late for a tune....
Just run a wire from the turn signal fuse to the wire thats contected to the fan (HOPEFULLY FAN RELAY) side of the switch...then the fan will come on when the igntion is in the run position and not run and aux.

will it be harmful to do this?
my 87 mustang has it set up where the fan comes on automatically. looks like a wire is ran to the fuse box.
sometimes i'll forget and leave the fan on and it'll drain my battery. then when i forget to turn it on..then my car overheats. i had good relays in and a good fan and it still overheats.. seemed like the fan wasnt coming on soon enough.

Not nearly as harmful as running it hot....
Seriously if you want it to turn on and off with the ignition do it that way...but make sure the fan is wired into a relay and your not hooking it directly to the fuse panel. If you dont have this very basic knowledge of automotive wiring you may want to pay somebody to do it for you.

Why don't you just run a NORMAL fan switch all together? That way they turn on automatically when they should and then you could turn them on whenever you want?

Yeah, but it also turns on with the ignition in the "on" position and in the "aux" postion. Thats why I said hook it to the turn signal fuse and it will only turn on in the "on" position. Other wise if you have the radio on your while you wash the car or whatever your fan will be on.

Buy a fan relay kit then and wire it up yourself. Fan Switch kits have a temp controlled switch so you won't have to worry about it. Why do you have a manual fan switch anyhow?
