Default My LS6 intake won't seat properly in its valley

Has anyone had problems getting a LS6 intake to seat properly when they were doing a LS1 --to--> LS6 intake swap? Keep in mind, it's an older LS1 motor & has 806 heads. Seems like the bottom of the LS6 intake is more flat than the LS1 and it won't go down flush over that little valley cover vacuum hose. We ended up putting the LS1 intake back on

Please tell me you grind down the tabs off of your LS6 intake at the bottom OR replaced your LS1 coolant pipes w/ LS6 plugs and coolant pipe. If not thats probably why you didn't get a good seat.

Sounds like the most likely culprit.

Just ground down the fins on the bottom of the intake, you only need to grind down the ones that go over the coolant lines. There are also little metal brackets that hold the lines in place. They may be covered in some tape. Remove them as well and just place some electrical tape or similar material to where the knock sensor wires cross over the lines. It'll save you the time of having to hunt down the lines and having to burp the coolant system of air.
