Default So Im Not Allowed To Add Constructive Criticism?

so instead of explaining why there is a problem with the search function, the obvious guy in charge of making sure the search function works, gets butt hurt, and closes my thread instead?

very mature, and professional.

thanks.

when you "search this forum" in the classifieds for something, you get results from every single forum on the board.

c'mon people.

Do you understand and have a working knowledge of the vBulletin software?

Do you understand all the necessary coding, and tweaks that are made just to keep this site running?

Do you have a financially vested interest in this site or Internet Brands where you can correlate the operating costs (or advertising revenue) direct impact to site performance?

If so, then lets hear YOUR solution.

If not, then you received the best explanation available. Brains knows about it, and they are working on it.

When it works, you will be the first to know!

cyphur does not maintain the search. Brains does. Brains is a full time IB employee now. Internet Brands owns VBulletin, so you bet they are working on stuff.

Your post came through as pretty much a smart *** post. Therefore it was locked. If you had asked politely, then maybe it would not have been met with a lock. But as it is, your post made you sound like an ***, so you got the lock. Not hard to understand at all.

Start your own site and write your own damn search. There.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. Now please take this opportunity to go pound sand, since you can't seem to be either polite OR constructive.

You should learn to be "professional" and "mature" yourself before asking it of other people. That's not called constructive criticism, that's called being an *******.

Sure you are. The problem is that you didn't. Instead, you chose
another route which Jon so nicely captured here:

Brains has always helped me out and tons of other guys when we asked for help. Wether "search" or "posts" he has always been a help. But when you come off saying and acting so ignorant and rude you will get nothing. It takes a lot to get this "**** working properly" as you so delicatly put it and I and others thank Brains for what he does.

Did the update cause half the posts to disappear? I see nothing past March now for some reason... Keeping fingers crossed this is temporary.

Hook me up with an example or two in the "Official search sticky" if you would, please. Everything should be there

My "Default Thread Age Cut Off" was mysteriously set back to 10 days yesterday.
I switched it back to forever.
