Paint Defect?
I have noticed several small things in my paint that I was curious if I could warranty as a paint defect.
Part of the hood the paint has fish eyes, another part is bubbled. The entire roof is bubbling and cracking, and now I've noticed the rear fenders are starting to bubble too. This is very upsetting seeing as how my car has 52k miles, and is garaged.
Would GM cover this?

Ive read about the sail panel recall, I was also just curious about the rest of the car. NBM is not cheap and neither is painting a car.
And yes, the drivers side rear quarter has some bubbles in it. Carfax was clean last I checked. It looks like the front bumper may have been repainted at one time, but thats likely with an fbody, and its hard to tell with the difference in color.

Sounds like it's been repainted. The only factory flaws I've ever seen is trash in the paint, wavy body panels(the new chevy suv's and trucks are horrible), and blotchy metallics(again, mainly on the new chevy suv's and trucks). Run your fingers around the edges of every body panels, and feel for tape edges. That's a dead give away that it's been painted on. Is the orange peel on the entire car uniform, or are some panels slick and others full of texture?

carfax doesnt mean anything. my cars been painted on the driver side 4 times and had a major hit up front and i have a clean carfax. if it doesnt go through the insurance its not gunna show on car fax. look at what was stated above and then you'll know. also another thing to look for is unbuffed spots(hazy spots), paint shrinking which u will see sanding scratches. best way to find those is get down low and look up at the panels

as far as i can tell no taped off marks or hazing. Paint is uniform from the doors to the fenders/ 1/4s. Doors have fair amount of wear inside the door handles so idk if they were ever repainted.
All panels are the same slickness and only have bubbles on one 1/4. Hood is slightly smoother cause as I was polishing it when I noticed the fish eyes and bubbles. If there is no proof of it being repainted will GM consider it a paint issue or no?

I'd be shocked if GM gave a crap. On and 8 yr old car? I'm pretty sure GM has had paint issues in the past too. I just noticed that my paint seems to be flaking off in tiny specks. And it doesn't seem to be in places that would be from rock chips (like the top of the spoiler) My car is a 2000 and I'm the original owner so I know it's never been touched.
