Default Super Chevy - Gen 3 - $25,000 build up

How could you possibly spend this much to make a C5R - 450CI naturally aspirated engine that does not make all that much power?

Does this thing have heads made of 24 carrot gold?

Block = $6K
crank = $3K
rods = 1K
pistons = 1K
heads = 3K
Intake/TB= 1K

...so where did the rest of the money go?

and for the power they made they could have bolted a SC on a STOCK block and made that much or more, but I guess you get a little more respect say it's all N/A
