Anyone think 500rwtq @ 3600 RPMwill move a 4000lb GTO?? What about 55rwtq @ 4200 RPM?? Lol

Just finished this one up guys. Peak #s arent unusually high, but power under the curve is quite impressive.

Specifics are as follows:

Vengeance Racing 454 LSX Shortblock
TrickFlow 245cc CNC Cylinder Heads
Vengeance Racing Custom Camshaft 25x/25x .61x/.61x 115 LSA
FAST 90mm Intake Ported by Vengeance
Ported LS2 90mm TB
All Supporting Bolt Ons
11.56:1 Compression

great #'s!

Ive seen a few TFS headed 454's hitting over 600rw though, so how are those peak numbers unusually high?

either way thats a ton of power!

Ron I had been waiting for this monster to come to life, and holy **** did she ever. Now when we talked about this I thought you were going to put one of your ported fast 92's on her with 100 mm TB. If the intakes and Tb's were swapped on this HUGE cu in monster, would the owner see much if any extra hp ???

Awesome job on the lsx 454 !!! Makes nearly as much rwtq as rwhp, very impressive.

I cant wait to get this beast home and to the track....! Remember that this is a GTO and the drivetrain loss is much more than a F-body or a Vette. Either way I'm very happy with what they did. I didnt make any of the decisions, I let Mike decide what it would need and paid the bill$. Big thanks to Mike,Ron,Buddy and The skinny white boy with the fast truck.....LOLz..!

Hmm, I havent seen many 454s hitting over 600rwhp.... This combo isnt max effort my any means. Relatively small cam and not too aggressive compression either.

On that note, a 454 is basically a 427 with more stroke.... More stroke= more torque, not more rwhp...

Funny thing is, you can`t make everyone happy. As long as the owner is happy, thats it. You always want more in the end, lol!

I'd love to see one of those LSX 454's in a Corvette. Would be unbelievable with the low curb weight.

Here's one that did 600rwhp by American HP and his vette. He doesnt say what the bigger cam made, but when he downgraded he said it "still" pulled to 600rwhp.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...hlight=lsx+454

another that did 624, but another cam bump down that still made 600rwhp.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...976&highlight=

both of them are running TFS 245's. There are just the ones I know of from this forum...

Not that i'm doubting you and your shop, you're the man Ron and i'm ordering MY TFS heads from you next week. I'm just curious. I started this build with 600rwhp as my goal cause I had been seeing it, this just discourages me, thats all.

and an lsx 454 is a 4.185 bore x 4.125 stroke where a 427 is a 4.125 bore x 4" stroke, so you're increasing bore and stroke thus hp AND torque, no?

No sweat man... Im sure we could get 600rwhp out of this combo with a few tweaks... Something I would like to see from the other combos is the power under the curve. Remember this is a STREET motor moving a 4000lb GTO. This combo is making 500rwtq at a very low RPM and 550rwtq not much more into the revs... Something to consider in ones search for ultimate "peak" horsepower

There's a hand full, maybe 6 now, C6 Z06's around here that have had their LS7 heads ported by a local shop and had cam changes, and some of them did some exhaust work. They are all over 600 RWHP. The highest guy is like 620 RWHP. The porter is getting like 397 cfm @ .650 and upwards of around 265-270 cfm on the exhaust ports. And their cams are all in the upper 230's.

How is this 454ci not making 650 RWHP through the M6? All I can guess is, the LS7 heads are out-doing the Trick Flows and the ported LS7 intakes out-do the ported FAST by a little too.

27 less cubes too, which is alot.

Yeah, the power under the curve means more then peak power for sure, especially for a street car. You're not letting out the full specs on the cam, I gues if the duration is in the low 250's it would make more sense.

do you have an idle clip?

I believe one of the cars I posted above actually came from your shop, no?
