Default How many $$$ to clean, deck and torque hone an LS1??

Hey,

I've located an 5.7L LS1 block to buy for my project (build a 383 stroker).
Next step will be to get it inspected, cleaned, decked (if necessary) and torqued deck honed.

The last thing I did that was even remotely similar to this was to get an old Ford 390 rebuilt to a fresh short block about 16 years ago. So I don't have any real recent experience to go on.

So, my question is - what's a fair/reasonable price for this assuming it's done by a reputable machine shop that does quality work?

Any recommendations in the SoCal area (San Diego, Orange County or LA)??

Thanks.

Costs in the SoCal area are going to be higher than most places except maybe Cambridge MA..LOL

I can give you the breakdown of what we charge but it wont be a good comparison to a shop in your area.

Yes please. That would give me some idea of what to expect.
True, it will be higher in SoCal, but it can't be that much more!?!?
Are we talking about $100's, or $1000's?
Thanks for for your insight.
