I purchased my LS2 out of an 2006 GTO. It was originally mated against a automatic tranny. I am running a manual transmission, my question is:
The flywheel/flexplate alignment stud was/is missing from the crankshaft. Do I need this?
The flywheel does have a bit of play with it missing so I am concerned about running it without it. I can get the hole lined up really close but not 100% sure if it is correct. If I do need this part does anyone know the GM part number is?
Are the 5.3/6.0/ LS1 crank stud the same?
I am more concerned about getting the flywheel alignment than anything. I do know that balance is important with any engine.
The parts guys at my local GM counter seem boggled that many of the LSX parts are interchangable.
Meaning that a 5.3 or 6.0 part may work on and LS2 that they may have in stock.
