Default Are you guys running aftermarket pulleys for strength?

Got my car running after adding twins and did some logged pulls. The PS pulley exploded on the 5th pull. Got me wondering if you guys get aftermarket billet ones for the PS and the tensioner. Are they needed? I definitely will get a billet ps pulley if I can find one but how necessary is the stronger tensioner?

If you are running a Procharger P1 or D1 or Vortech V or T series blower, you will mostly likely be good with the stock pulleys. If you have a larger unit, then you should think about upgrading the pulleys. If you are running a Procharger F1 series or Vortech YSi unit, you will most likely need to upgrade to 8-rib pulleys to help with belt slippage. The larger units need a lot more force to spin them and because of that it creates a lot more stress on the entire pulley system.
