LS1 in '82 Firebird
I know it's been asked, I read it in a couple places, but is it difficult? Would I be able to keep the 6-speed transmission and just bolt it in? My concern is the position of the tail of the transmission...will it be pretty much the same as the third gen in regards to the driveshaft position? If not, I have a Borg-Warner 5-speed. Can I just use that transmission and save some money? I admit it, I'm new to LS1's and third gen swaps, but hopefully you guys can help. Thanks!!

ok, so let me get this straight... I can take the LS1 and 6-speed tranny from say an SS or Z28, and it will basically bolt right in with the modified mounts? My driveshaft will just...slide right into the tail of the tranny, and that's done? If this is correct, I'm buying the stuff this week to do this.
I know I kinda asked already, but if you guys tell me this works, I'm doin it. I just want to make sure I have the facts before I dump 7 grand on this cars new powerplant. THANKS! please reply quickly so I can get this show on the road!!
