Default Intro Wheels

Anybody Using These Wheels.. Year One Sells Their Custom Billet Wheels For Just About Any Size, width, And Offset And They Only Cost 400-600 Dollars

This Seems Like A Steal Compared To Fikse And Ccw's Not To Mention Better Selection...

Also Is A "billet" Wheel Better Than Forged?.. I Havent Found Much On The Topic But What I Did Read Said Billet Wheels Were Lighter Than Forged Wheels

i think you might be misunderstanding the price, the $400-600 is most likely per wheel...Intro's weren't that cheap the last time I looked

CCW's can be had for close to that. 2600.00 was what I was quoted.

I looked into them a while back, but didn't see any designs I really liked. They have more designs to choose from, but most of them are really ugly, IMO.

I got 18X10's Intro Vista's with Nitto's for $2800 a couple years ago. I love em.

Here's pics of the fronts. Not sure of the prices now but I couldn't beat them back then.

"Billet" just means that something is machined from a block of material. It doesn't mean anything in terms of the type of material. You can built something from a billet block of gold, steel, lead, aluminum etc... all are techinically "billet".

Intro wheels are top-quality material wise, they are still forged aluminum centers just like the other brands. They aren't really "cheaper" than the others in similar sizing 2-piece wheels. Comparing them to Fikse is a different story, that is 3-pc vs 2-pc.

I can spot a 17/18 stagger from a mile away (which doesn't look good on F-Bodies to begin with.) I think the stagger going the opposite way is going to look even more horrible, but it's your car.

OK, I just bought a set of Intro "5 Stars" for my Z-28. They're 17x9.5", two piece wheels (billet center welded into a forged hoop), and were $275 each, plus shipping.

The "good": They're round and true, which can be an issue with "cheaper" wheels; the centers are very accurately welded in place, so all the wheels have the same backspace, which is fairly important; and they look quite good, as they're also polished on the backside...of course that's something else to keep cleaned!

The "bad": As someone previously said, they can look a little funky around the bolt circle, primarily because of the various center caps. That issue, caused me to have a couple of rather long and involved "discussions" with the Intro people.

I've been around custom wheels and tires a LONG time, and I've never seen a manufacturer vary the center cap based on the wheel's bolt circle. However, I guess in some sort of effort to encompass a variety of fitments, Intro machines their wheels with Ford/MoPar bolt circle (4.5") and one centerbore, and GM bolt circle (4.75") and a larger centerbores. I gues that isn't all that big of a deal.

The issue, however, is that they vary the center cap design, depending on the diameter of the centerbore. BUT, they don't mention it anywhere in their marketing material. Prior to ordering the wheels, I saw several pictures of the wheels, and the majority of them showed a rather flat, slightly domed cap (similar to the I-Forged caps). A couple of the pictures showed a "taller" (1" tall) more squared off cap.

I ordered the wheels from a dealer, and one thing I asked about was the center cap. I was told I'd get the cap illustrated on their website, which happened to be the domed cap. Well I didn't get that cap, because their picture was of the smaller bolt circle wheel (and they weren't aware of this difference!)

When I spoke directly with the marketing people at Intro, they were apologetic, but said that's how the make the wheels, but I also should have bought them directly, so there are no "issues". Well, I said, your website doesn't really state that you sell direct, like many manufacturers, so what was I to do??

Anyway, long story short, they sent me a set of the "domed" caps to try, but they didn't quite work, since the o-ring grooves (they use captured o-rings to hold the caps....it works!!) didn't line up. So, they're machining a set specially for me, from their next production run.

Long story short, I do like the wheels, they fit well, they balanced out with a minimum of weight, and if we get the center cap situation worked out, they'll look really great on the car. And they're not all that expensive, for what you're getting, compared to a 1 piece, cast in China wheel, (design not mentioned) that a lot of people use.

Have the Gt Sports here. 18x9/ 18x10 combo. Couldnt be happier! Have gotten ALOT of compliments on them. However like some stated, the domed center cap dosent please everybody. Not a big deal to me though. Bottomline, this is my 4th set of wheels, and they are keepers. Wish i would've bought these the 1st time around.

IMO- Call up Intro directly, and ask for Bryan. He's also a member here. If you're interested in what i paid, shoot me a pm.

There a great compony, with much variety in there wheels. They can do any wheel with or without rivits, and I was told that they did in fact offer another, slightly flatter, centercap for the wheels pictured above. Good customer service too.

I feal bad that I wasted so much of there time debating and asking questions just to go with a much cheaper wheel set I bought used from a member on here.

I had 19x10 and 20x10 Pentia's that I sold with my 93 TA. They are NICE wheels, just a little heavy. I've since moved to 3 piece forged wheels (Forgeline) I've bought 2 sets of Forgeline's now. But the Forgeline's are DAMN expensive.
