OH WOW!!! I got a special delivery.... today.
Headers and Y-pipe plus 7.40 hardened pushrods.
Already had the FM11 Cam and Dual Valve Springs (Thanks Brian.)
Next is the LS6 intake and Shaner S2 Throttle Body that I should be getting in about two weeks or so. Then once everything is installed, a Dyno Tune at Norris' shop.
This is the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!!! my b-day is June 18th, and I'll be three years old on that day.... ummm yeah, wife is still telling me to grow up.
Anyways, I'm HAPPY!!!
Gonna go see if I can do this header install myself................ maybe?

You should be able to do the headers no problem. I did my old Pacesetters in 04' after the hurricanes. I had no power - so it was just me, hand tools, and some beer. :chug: It took me about 6 hours, would have been about half that if I wasn't drinking.
Congrats on the mods! It should be a huge SOTP doing it all at once. :D It's a shame you don't have a converter to go in at the same time while the exhaust is out of the way.

Give me a call tomorrow and remind me. I'll see if I can get the lift to do the headers.
Wait a minute, what am I saying! I can't help you to be faster than me. LOL

I'm just half assed working on it. My time limit is June 22nd. So a little here, a little there, no big deal. Amd yeah, it would have helped if i got a converter first. I'm doing this a bit backwards right now.
Removed EGR, Unbolted AIR (I'm going to remove the AIR altogether). Driver's side exhaust manifold undone. Stock metal Gasket in great shape. Passenger side exhaust manifold 4 bolts removed, 2 still in place. Need to remove Oil check tube (Dipstick.)
So that's how far I got in about an hour and a half. It may be slow, but i feel accomplished. need to borrow some jacks and pieces of 4x4 now. Already have two jacks, but it seems like i need 4. And the wood will help get the car higher.

Now all you need is that converter and some heads. Then you might be able to almost keep up with me LOL.
You know JEB99TA is selling a nice converter. Pretty soon you are gonna need some Drag Radials too. I think he is selling a set of them too.

Just because my drag radials are as skinny as a bike tire compared to yours, doesn't mean that i don't have drag radials. And no comment on keeping up with ya. :P

Jason, what springs did you get? If I have to pull the seats (which I would think all spring kits would require), you need new seals. John got his from Norris for cheap enough....
water pump gaskets, valve cover, front cover, front crank, new crank bolt.....
Now we just need to come up with a tune I can load in to get you pseudo-driveable...

OH for some reason I didnt think you had drag radials.
Definately need valve seals(doesnt make sense not to replace them even if you dont have to, while you are in there), valve cover gaskets, timing set(should include water pump, timing cover and crank seal), crank bolt(some say you dont need it, but its cheap). When you get the gaskets open the boxes before you leave the parts store to make sure everything is there. Dont want to have another episode where gaskets are missing and we have to hunt for new ones on a weekend.
My tune worked on Jeffs car and his was automatic with a cam and headers. I would definately get it tuned by a professional asap, but mine should work to get you there.

Cool. Did they have to go in and change anything because of the automatic? That was my only concern....

Okay, so I need to try and find new seals for the valve springs.

Okay, I'm REALLY slow at this... But here's an update.
Exhaust manifolds removed, both sides. EGR removed, and Air Pump removed.
Dang this is fun, but I work too slow..
Hope to install at leat Passenger side header tomorrow. Maybe next day get the Driver's side. I've heard it's easier, so I'm saving it for last.
Getting TR6's, going to do a spark plug change since it's soo freaking easy to do right now, and I need them for the cam.
hehehe. I like going out into my garage right now and seeing it jacked up, knowing what's it's gonna be when I get it onto the road again.
Thanks Reddvil for the help today. Needed some extra tools and he helped me out.

The driver side is the one that you may need to cut off a chunk of the casting flange. I have a sawzall and metal blades if you need.
The plugs will coming back out at cam for air valve hold, so don't stress if you don't get them in.
Glad to hear it is going well!

10-4, I'll let you know about a sawzall, I might have one this weekend. Didn't realize I needed that. And I won't do the plugs yet.
