Default JBA headers? Really any shorty headers.

Anybody have any experience with them?

A buddy of mine wants some more performance and better sound from his 2000 SS but wants to stay emissions legal for cali/tx.

What do you guys reccomend?

Not worth the money. He will see minimal, 2-5 hp increase. I guess its cool if its combined with a full exhaust, and if he wants to squeese every horse power he can get out of his car

I'll let him know. Maybe they will be worth it just to make the engine bay look at little better.

I has them and got a decent gain out of mine, but, I have '99 manifolds, not the newer better-flowing ones. I would not do them again unless I was in California and had a 98-99 year model car ... waste of money which could be spent elswhere. I also went with MAC 3/4 mid's ... if I had it to do over again, I would have saved a little longer and got long tubes. After having the others, you WILL eventually end up buying long tube haeders.
