Car is one owner. It was bought by a car broker in some type of auction. The car is a dealer trade in and has a clear carfax!:chug:

Any pics? What are they asking for it?

Not yet. The broker had a guy show it to him on a web cam and also had his own people do a frame and mechanical inspection before he bought it. He wants 16,500 with tax tittle and license.

Kelley Blue Book says (for suggested retail, with all options) for a 2000 Camaro SS M6: $13,925 in my zip code.
I wouldn't pay more than 12k, depending on options and stuff.

we all know KBB is worthless with these cars. depending on SLP options and overall condition, I'd say 15k is about right.

It sounds like a nice car it is only work what you are willing to pay for it.. I wouldn't go over 14k on it but that's me. KBB does have a bearing on these cars it is not absolute but it is a guide. Generally the retail is closer to what they sell for...

Check E-bay, with new camaro comming soon, and gas prices going up $$$, the market for these cars are way down. Even w/ the low miles, do not pay over 14, The car is 8 years old-broker probably payed less than 12. I have been thinking about selling my SS, but market sucks right now.

I agree GG, but cars with less than 40,000 are still listing for big prices. Wouldn't a car thats older with less miles be rarer than a newer car with the same milage??

The market won't suck for ever. Thats economics for ya?? Ha Ha

Ya economy sucks, I'm the original owner of my 01 SS w/ only 23,000 miles and when I bought an 07 Tahoe last year I attempted to sell the SS but biggest offer was only 15, I thought I would get at least 17-18, trade in offer was only 13. It's covered in the Garage for now-weekend ride only.

The economy is actually working in the buyer's favor so this is a good chance to pick up a nice low mileage example for decent $$. Don't get fixated on this one particular car. Low mileage examples are getting tougher to find but they still turn up weekly on ebay and autotrader.com. Don't be afraid to travel for such an important purchase. A few hundred dollars in gas would be well worth getting the right car. Ref the car you are talking about, I think $15,000 would be a fair price if in very good to excellent condition. If it is near MINT then maybe a tad higher. It sounds like you might not have actual documentation available to show fluid changes and ownership history (who was the one owner???). This also should work in your favor for dickering purposes. Does it need a $600 set of tires right off the bat?? All important info. If they don't budge on the price let them sit on it, and you move on to another car and a more realistic seller. Good luck!

+1 I only used it as a little reference, I don't go by it often, but people do. I thought the OP might like to have the info, and yes that did take mileage into account. DOBoy411, That KBB is pretty much worthless like you said depending on options, but since he didn't know the options I posted the nearest estimate I could get with the factory options, I wouldn't go above 12k depending on options, with just the GM options, I'd only go 12k. Depending on SLP options I could be tempted to go as high as 14k. But that all depends on what is or isn't on the car, I'd need more information to make a more informed estimate.

9 model year old car. Miles help but I wouldn't give more than $13,000 for it. Less if it's an automatic.

I just bought an 02 SS M6 with 11k original miles. T tops, 12 disc. all options besides slp. I paid $15,500. KBB said $15,900. This was 2 months ago. The most I would pay for the car you are looking at is $13,500

Thanks for the insight guys. The car is being shipped to Dallas from Michigan. The dealer already bought the car and is paying for the shipping. I didn't put any money down. The dealer only asked that I didn't buy any other car till I see this one. He said he could sell it any way if I didn't buy it. Should be here next week sometime. I'll keep yall updated and take some pics when I see it.:chug:

You don't need a new seat, you can just have that section of the leather replaced. Call American Sunroof on Irving Boulevard and talk to Sheila. Tell her Jeff from Sewell sent you and she'll take care of you. I don't have the # here but just google it and you'll find it.

Oh and you can get a good set of tires for around $600-700.

The dealer has listed the car for $17,900. Buying the car for $15,500 plus ttl. . That includes a dyno sheet provided by the seller. Only down fall to me is no t-tops but research has told me that this may be a blessing. Will see the car on Sat. Any tips on what to look for? I have verified the SS but the car has no SLP options.

I paid 18.5 for my 2000 Firehawk with 27,xxx miles last year. The car was garage kept and second owner. I see a lot of Camaro SS in town but rarely do I see a Firehawk.

I think he people saying 13-14 is nuts. It's not a run of the mill Z28. I think the SLP cars run 2-3k more. Yes it's another year older but the mileage is still low. It's not like he is asking 25k for cars that year.

It really depends on how much you like the car and if you can afford it.
