Default Cylinder head help

I recently changed my LS1 stage II patriot heads for 5.3L stage II heads and I didnt re-tune it. i noticed that i am wasting alot more gas and my code that popped up said that the gas and air wasnt mixing right. Now does this make the car leaner or richer? Not only that, is it safe to drive in the street/track? Bottom line, I went from a 67cc head to a 59cc head. the heads were milled when i got them. Thanks for any advice!

Not sure as with every ride they are different . I can say that I went from a stock chamber down to around a 58cc with a Fast and checked my spark plugs after a 100 miles of easy driving . I could tell it was lean when checking the plugs . Took it to the dyno and I was way lean with a ported MAF . Because I already thought that it was runnnign lean I had a stock MAF screen and everything and put it on for a run . Picked up 2rwhp with the stock MAF and dropped my A/F from roughly 15s to 11s . I have had it tuned since but have not been back to the dyno .

Definitely need a retune after adding that much compression.

If you're throwing a code, it should tell you whether it is too lean or too rich. Poor gas mileage probably means too rich.
