Default How to open hood without hood latch cable?

So my hood latch cable came loose a few months ago, and the dealer ordered a replacement and once it was in I was to schedule to bring it in. They put in a temp release near the headlamp.

The motor needed to come out before the cable came in, and they've been holding onto it for me supposedly. I just got the car back on the road Friday, and my low oil light came on while driving today. I had just had the hood open this morning checking all the fluid levels.

So when I arrive at Vatozone to pick up some more oil, I went to pop the hood and the temp release cable was just plain loose, and it slid right out from under the hood. The low oil light did not come back on betweeen Vatozone and home.

So what's the trick to getting the hood open from under the car like the dealer tech did?

It didn't take long for their body shop to replace and paint the hood if that's the method he used

You have to reach up and force your hand between the air baffles, right in the center where there is a U shaped cut out and two white fasteners.
You can reach the latch from there, and try to get your finger in where the cable goes and move it to the drivers side, it should unlatch.
It helps to have a friends car nearby with the hood up so you know where to go when you get your hand in there.

I have the FTRA, so I could see it but the square corners of the FTRA made it a little unfriendly. It opens again, thanks for the help!
