Default What is the cheapest thing you can do to add horsepower?

I was looking to gain some more horsepower with my 00' Trans Am. I currently have a K&N CAI and the SLP Loudmouth II exhaust system. I do not want to get a tuner I was looking more for something to add to my car but I don't want to spend more than 1k...any suggestions?

Long tube headers, a ypipe (off road with no cats), LS6 intake manifold, ported stock TB, and a Fast Toys Ram Air System will give you a good gain for right about 1K.

Don't do Nitrous! I'd just go headers and high flow cats.

M6 or A4? My mods were less than 1g and run mid 12's with traction.

I'm a fan of all motor.. The bottle goes empty, the headers and high flow cats don't turn back into stock manifolds and restrictive cats.

I'm assuming you meant "and"

And also, I did not say I agree with the Nitrous decision, but that it was the answer to his original question...

do you have any personal experience with Nitrous, or are you just making broad generalizations?

Nitrous will work great if you have the correct equipment and are conservative with it's use. The only thing bad about nitrous is that the bottle does run out, or lose pressure. The great thing about it is it's the cheapest way to actually go fast.

Headers and ORY are a step in the right direction.
