Default Should my car be faster ?

Went to Barona 1/8 mile track Friday night and ran 9 times.
Most of the runs were 9.30 ish at 78 mph.
my 60foots were high 2,2 to 2.3 m6 on street tires.
Lost to some diesel truck a couple of times in a row Great race.
Had a blast just wondering if the times are in order. I'm stock.
What is the best shift rpm for m6 ?

Not bad at all i would say. The convertable is adding some extra weight so that wont help. Usually people who post their times only post when they are good times people usually dont post when they have slower times. So if i were you i would invest $100 on a lid and another $70 to have a cutout installed and port your tb, descreen your maf, free ram air mod, and cut your egr tube and go hit the track with another 25+ horsepower.

I have run at both Barona and the Qualcomm parking lot. I did equally bad on street tires at both places. I'm not saying that they are the same quality track, just that I'm not good enough to capitalize on any difference.

i would have to say your times are deff not up to par, if you can only get a 2.2 you are gonna need some practice, sounds to me like your car is bogging really bad or your car has issues, you should be in the 8's and 80's no prob at all.

sounds like a driver mod or your car is running wrong.

good luck, bring that car to irwindale and we will see what it has in it

Your MPH seems a little on the low side even for an 6 speed even though it is an 2000 without a ls6 intake. With alitte seat time, better launch, and some decent tires you should be in the 8s. If your a heavy guy 230+ it may also bring your race weight up quite a bit over average

even with a vert you should be in the 8's, but i would not worry practice makes perfect. drag radials alone should gurantee 8"s on a stock ls1.considering an average driver

Strut tower bar, Subframe connectors, front sway bar all of these items add unecessary weight and slow the car down. If he were to ditch all 3 he would be good for 12.9-13.0's

eh, im not sure those will get me .2-.3, but i agree 100%, they arent necessary for 1/4 mile. even the hard springs work against my launch.

isn't a 2.2 60 ft about the limit for rwd and street tires?

absolutely not, my 99 a4 with 155k miles, would 60 mid 1.8's and mid 1.7's with the 4.10's. my 02 is an m6, i have the same street tires, which are toyo t1r's i have gotten a fluke 60" of a 1.809 but more consistent 1.9's and the ocassional high 1.8 is a normal day at the track for my stock m6 on street tires, stock clutch stock exhaust and stock suspension.

kinda funny, after i lowered my car, added the gmmg cat back, the slp strut tower i have not been able to get a high 1.8 since, just the 1.9's

Wow, impressive. At the track on Friday, I was racing a modded '06 Audi S4. With his Quattro all wheel drive, he would nail a 1.99 60ft every single light. Street tires, sticky245s on all 4 corners, and suspension setup for not-drag-racing. Based on the absurd out of the hole grip of the quattro, I assumed that was approaching the true limit of street tire 60ft. Also, he would have "similar" hp and torque from his 5valve per cylinder 4.2 v8 to your LS1.

he might have similar numbers but the cars are very different. i also doubt he has similar numbers. you also assume that it was a good driver, he very likely coul dhave sucked at launching his car.
