NOS 5177 setup
I got a 5177 with 125 shot nozzles comming in. I plan to inject it in the front below (I got FIPK).
Anyone with similar set up? PICS PLEASE.
Even if u have lid spray Send Pics anyway.
This is to give me a visual on different routing, solinoid placement ETC...
Thanks in advance for your posts.

Re: NOS 5177 setup
I have a GMAF, no screen, FIPK is an open air element, NO LID. That is why i'll be injecting in the bellow between the MAF and the Filter.

Re: NOS 5177 setup
Im not real familiar with the FIPK but I know where your talking about. I think the only thing you have to worry about is the direction of the jets and how close it is to the MAF. Just mount it as close to the filter as you can. I am not 100% sure but I remember hearing that you can't mount the jets too close to the MAF.

Re: NOS 5177 setup
FIPK has an oval flat open element filter. I was thinking to maybe put the NOS injectors in the back of the filter plate (Or front if I have to).
However they would be running side by side (about 5 inches from each other).
Most set ups run nozzles opposite to each other. WOULD THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Running them in front filter would iject in the direction of air flow.

If it were me I would sell the FIPK and put a lid back on it.
That is what the kit was designed for and will work best that way.
I mounted the solinoids under the air intake bellow bolted to the fan shroud.
Looks a little cleaner that way.

Re: NOS 5177 setup
I get better DYNO # with FIPK and ULTRA Z HOOD. Direct RAM AIR. I used to have lid. Difference is +6 rwhp accross the band (DYNO) & increasing to +9 at peak with speed (G-TECH). I want to stick with FIPK.

Re: NOS 5177 setup
While I'm not a n2o user, if I were going to invest into and mount a 125hp shot system, losing 6 to 9 hp wouldn't ruffle me much. Heck, I would just hit the switch once in a while and enjoy the remaining 119 hp I'd get from the n2o!
These systems are designed and warrantied to be installed under certain criteria. 'Modding' the install of the nozzle locations can have serious repercussions to a motor.
Unless you are installing it for looks....which would mean that you can get a non-functional system for cheap and install it any way you please....
Not being a smart a$$...just being practical.....

Re: NOS 5177 setup
On my car I have the FIPK and the 05177 kit. I drilled 2 holes in the front of the filter and that is were the the nitrous enters. It works fine becasue the FIPK acts as a vaccum and sucks everything in. I have had this set up for a while and i have had no problems. My soleniods are mounted on the big piece of metal that the FIPK came with. So the bottom line is that u can keep the FIPK and the dry nitrous will work just fine
