Default Centerforce clutch shot?

I have a centerforce clutch in a heads and cam ls1. over the last month I have noticed the car is hard to get into gear. Tranny seems fine (Rebuilt last year along with brand new GM hydos). I have a loud knocking under the car coming from the bell housing. Sounds like a bolt in a dryer at high speeds. Engine vitals are fine. I just took out the trans and nothing is lose. I noticed there was clutch material on the fly wheel (outside where the pressure plate doesn't hit). Kinda like the stock head gasket material. The car also seems to have lost some get up and go, but it runs fine. The clutch has around 4-5k on it. Is there a way to check if the clutch is crap?

Thanks

it sounds like a similar problem i had a few years back...i think the problem was my pilot bearing...did you change it when you installed your clutch?

^^ WRONG, what clutch do you have first of all the 11" or 12", did you change out the slave, pilot bearing AND master when you did your swap?

To test it try cruising in 6th gear on the freeway...say 65mph and floor it. If it slips its going out, if not it is holding.

And yes...centerforce is a bad choice for our cars. My 01 WS6 has the 12" model which is designed for forced induction and/or nitrous. I have a mild bolt on car the sees the strip once every three months for a couple hours. The clutch has 12k miles on it and is almost not even there(doesnt engage until pedal id completely out). I tried to just replace the disc but centerforce also will not sell just a dual friction disc. Instead I had to buy a light metal puck type disc. I may install this when I do my H/C or if I can afford it by then I will buy a textralia and be done with this junk centerforce altogether.
